Hardcore Lexus LFA Special Edition AD-X!

Lexus LFA AD-X
This industry test week at the Nurburgring has certainly has a supercar feel to it, with the Mercedes SLS Black Edition and the Audi R8 GT spied turning laps at the “Green Hell.” That supercar trend continues today as Lexus engineers have just begun testing what looks to be an even MORE track-focused version of the LFA!

Initially, this manufacturer-plated test car looked a lot like the LF-A Nurburgring Edition, but a closer look reveals the changes. Its actually the third version of the AD-Special Edition models that was started with the AD-A in blue and then followed by the green AD-B. This one is called AD-X and the color settings reminds of the classic Porsche 911 Carrera RS. With the other AD-prototypes to be said to be one-offs we suspect that this one will sadly also be a one-off. But we can always hope.

Chris Harris Exclusive 918 Preview of the Porsche 918

Porsche 918 Spider

Envy is one word for the exclusive access Chris gets to the motor industry, but Pistonspy tips his hat on some very sensible and technical details he manages to extort from the engineers at Porsche.

He gets the information that the calibration unit for the drive train comes from the 991 variant of the Porsche GT3, and also manages to take the prototype version, albeit riding shotgun on to the streets around the Nordschleife in Germany.

Also discussed is the range of the electric mode which is hinted with a range of 150km in between charges, then the chassis calibration engineer turns the car in to race mode and basically turns Chris interest in to the combustion engine.

Anyway enjoy the video and celebrate with Porsche the incredible laptime of 7:14 of the infamous circuit in the 918, which I remind you is still not the final calibrated production variant of the new Porsche’s supercar.

Porsche 911 Carrera S – Laps the Nürburgring in 7:37.9

Porsche 911 Carrera S - Laps Nurburgring in 7:37.0

Well the saga of manufacturers lap times on the Nordschleife in Germany keep rolling in, This time the current 991 series of the 911 Carrera S has attained a time of 7:37.9.

This time is impressive as it shows that Timo Kluck drove the new 911 faster than the outgoing 2010 series Porsche Turbo by around 2 seconds, but still shy of the 7:20 ascertained by the Nissan GTR.

The interesting lap time of the currently in development 991 turbo will be aiming to shatter the Nissan GTR’s in light of the aggressive marketing against Porsche, and after seeing that the Nissan engineers also have a Porsche in the fleet at the Nordschleife for comparison.

Here are the latest spyshots of a production ready prototype of Bentleys Continental Flying Spur, prowling around the Nordchleife in Germany .

Vauxhall VX220 Turbo One Careful Owner – Driven at weekends only

One Carefull but Crazy Owner

We are all guilty off it, browsing the pistonheads classified looking for some unmolested example of some of the best cars money can buy.

I am currently looking for a new pet project and specially tempted by the VX220 route, then I came across this lovely looking moonland grey vx220 turbo. Then I begin to worry about the usual thoughts of buying a tastefully modded car.

Has it been driven hard all its life, has it been looked after like a cherished naughty weekend, well fear not the honest owner has put a video up of his self driving around the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife in  Germany.

All my questions were answered but in such a beautiful way the epic video shows what a sub £9000 pound vx220 can do against the mighty Porsche GT3RS, after careful consideration and throwing caution to the wind I want it! but do you?????
