Audi have released the cockpit video of the Audi R8 E-Tron Record lap of the Nordschleife for an 100% Electric car with an impressive time of 8:09 seconds.
Also on show in the car is the rear facing camera which was first used on the Le Mans R18 in place of the usual rear mirror due to the poor visibility out of the rear.
The R8 e-tron has two electric motors that produce 308 hp and 820 Nm of torque which is available throughout. The battery is a 49 kWh lithium-ion which powers the cars motors to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds, hit a limited top speed of 200 kph.
The cars limiter was removed for this run and reported to be at 250kph.
Without the sound of an engine and the only way I can explain it, is white noise coming from the wind and tyre squeel we might have found a new interrogation technique to be used at Guantanamo.
