Lamborghini Aventador Live Pics from Geneva [updated]

After we spotted the “Jota” prototype AKA the Aventador in 2010 testing at the Nordschleife in Germany.

The Italian bullworks have been unlucky in the amount of press leaks about this vehicle.

And there is nothing to reveal at Geneva apart from what you can see in these pictures, from our friends at Autogespot.

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 Scan image leaked

As we was just about finishing another generic teaser set of images from Lamborghini Showing the Rolling Chassis attached to the Carbon Fibre Passenger Cell.

But it looks like the Italian press leak shows what we really want to see showing a top front view of the LP-700.

One thing surprises us over this leak is that the prototype camouflage hinted at the angular slatted engine cover, only this picture shows the usual aggressive styling is gone and replaced with more of a refined design.

Are we going to get the side views before Geneva time will tell….

Lamborghini Aventador – Video Revealing under the Camo

Lamborghini are not satisfied in pulling the shroud off the Aventador LP700-4 at the Geneva Motor Show, now there has been a video release/leak from the Italian bull-works driving in the winter landscape in Sweden.

With a curb weight of just 1575 kg (3,472 pounds), that’s all good for a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of 2.9 seconds, as we had previously reported. Top speed is 350 km/h (217 mph).

The engine is coupled to a 7-speed independent shift rod transmission with shift times of just 50 milliseconds. The model also features a Haldex all-wheel drive system.

Expect another video or two before the Geneva Motorshow in two weeks time.

Lamborghini’s “Aventadore” v12 Engine revealed

After the numerous sighting we made of the Jota or the rumoured “Aventadore” Murcielago replacement, lamborghini have revealed the powerunit which is being developed along with Bosch and Lamborghini’s technology partners.

The V12 will be capable of a world beating 700hp of naturally aspirated power and the usual 4 wheel drive transmission from the Audi quattro system from Germany, along with Lamborghini ISR gearbox with an impressive 40% improvement in speed of the gear changes over the current Gallardo servo actuated gearbox.

The v12 powerunit depending on application will be capable of an impressive 3hp per kilogram, due to the various weight reduction techniques applied using advanced lighter materials, for example nitride-hardened crankshafts ensures the weight is an impressive 24.6kg and ensures the engine high revving characteristic and minimise bearing wear.

Along with a carbon fiber induction system reflects in the total engine weight of 235kg.

And for the environmental concerns the 60 bar fuel pump will be electronically controlled to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions and consumption on this application.

Thanks go to the guys at Jalopnik for the rumoured name for the Jota prototype we spotted undergoing test at the Nurburgring in Germany Earlier in the year.

Lamborghini Jota Prototype Spied at the Nürburgring

The Lamborghini Jota prototype was spotted on the Nürburgring’s Nordschleife Today.

The Carbon and Aluminium spaceframe underpins this Italian thouroughbred resulting in a lighter more agile chassis and lower ride height than the current Murcielago.

The power unit is to be a direct injection V-12 approximately outputting 695 horsepower and delivered to the four wheel drive haldex system from Audi.

The car’s detailing including the rear light clusters are similar to the Reventon/Estoque as for the rest of the detailing well have to wait until the Paris motorshow.
