BMW I8 - VLN 2013 Season BMW Motorsport

Sometimes it’s time to leave the city. Escape the restrictions of everyday life. Yes you guessed it the flagship I8 is lapping the Nordschleife.

After successful initial testing of the vehicle concept, the decision for a series production vehicle was quickly made. The BMW i8 Concept is the next step in the evolution of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.

And now it looks like BMW I8 is looking close to completion, the I8’s plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric propulsion system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear.

BMW I3 – Spied In Light Cammo

BMW I3 Light Cammo
Here are our latest and most revealing photos showing the new BMW i3 out on test.

BMW continiues the strip tease on the i3 and now we can clearly see the roofline and lower parts of the front bumper without cammo.

We can also see the lines of those classical BMW kidneys and the window line in the rear doors.

And when we look at the side photos we are slighly chocked, will this be one of the first BMW i modern time that is missing the Hofmeister kink?

BMW M6 GranCoupe – Almost Official

BMW this week have shown the BMW M6 Gran Coupe at a private unveiling at the Nurburgring in Germany.

Even though the pictures don’t really reveal much from the spy shot’s taken last year, whilst undergoing extreme cold weather testing.

It does show us the finished article hidden under the camouflage, one thing was a surprising that the car is sporting a carbon fiber roof along with some more carbon detailing throughout the car although we are not sure of the option list on this private display, but the car also had Ceramic Brakes which hints at this being the M-Drivers-Package M6 Gran Coupe.

Chris Harris Exclusive 918 Preview of the Porsche 918

Porsche 918 Spider

Envy is one word for the exclusive access Chris gets to the motor industry, but Pistonspy tips his hat on some very sensible and technical details he manages to extort from the engineers at Porsche.

He gets the information that the calibration unit for the drive train comes from the 991 variant of the Porsche GT3, and also manages to take the prototype version, albeit riding shotgun on to the streets around the Nordschleife in Germany.

Also discussed is the range of the electric mode which is hinted with a range of 150km in between charges, then the chassis calibration engineer turns the car in to race mode and basically turns Chris interest in to the combustion engine.

Anyway enjoy the video and celebrate with Porsche the incredible laptime of 7:14 of the infamous circuit in the 918, which I remind you is still not the final calibrated production variant of the new Porsche’s supercar.
