2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Final Testing at the #Nurburgring #exclusive

These are the best Pictures yet of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee without any disguise testing at the Infamous Nordschleife even though it was a TF.

The Production will start in may and it looks like this is one of the first non mule vehicles undergoing a rundown test.

This model also introduces an Air Suspension system called the Quadra-Lift which has five height settings, two for off-road use (raising 1.3 and 2.6 inches above normal, to a maximum 11.1 inches of ground clearance), “aero” (lowering .5 inches for aerodynamics at speed), and entry/exit, which lowers the car by 1.5 inches. Quadra-Lift operates four-corner air springs automatically, or via console controls; the Aero control is automatic and speed-controlled.

Also introduced is an Adaptive Cruise Control Radar, which varies the speed of the vehicle in relation to the obstructions picked up on the radar system below the front Number plate.

The Selec-Terrain™ traction control coordinates up to 12 powertrain, braking, and suspension systems, including throttle control, shifting, the transfer case, and stability control. It is included with the Off-Road Group and Hemi, and is standard on Limited and Overland, provided either Quadra-Drive or Quadra-Trac II is specified. The driver can choose between:

•Sand/Mud: Traction control and Quadra-Lift are more sensitive to wheel spin, and torque is tuned; 50/50 torque split
•Sport: Cuts the traction control back, lowers the Jeep by half an inch, and puts up to 80% of power to the rear wheels
•Automatic operation with torque split at around 40/60 front/rear
•Snow: Traction and Quadra-Lift tuned for snow-covered roads; the torque split is around 50/50
•Rock: The suspension raises to the maximum 11.1 inches height and the transfer case, differentials, and throttle coordinate to provide low-speed control; around 50/50 torque split

The Powerunit will be a choice of 3 engines, including a new V6, a diesel, and one mighty V8 HEMI which includes Cylinder deactivation to increase fuel economy.

2011 BMW M5 Spotted Again Nurburgring.

Until recently I owned a E60 M5 awesome car and at the time the worlds fastest saloon.

So you can imagine my excitement when the new M5 was rumored.

It was reputed to be a twin turbo adaptation of the award winning V10 to compete with Audi Biturbo V10 my excitement in the prospect of the high revving V10 coupled with a twin turbo perhaps would even compete with the Lexus LFA.

Unfortunately this isn’t the case, gone is the award winning v10 and is rumored to have a Twin-Turbo 4.4 litre V8 which is used in the X6 M and the X5 M, Showing one horsepower less than the RS6 with 578hp at the crank the transmission loss in the RS6 could lead to it being beaten.

Apparently the figures for the new model 0-62mph currently has shaved 0.5 of a second of the previous model.

Time will tell if BMW have managed to improve the M5

2011 Porsche Cayenne Lineup

The 2011 Porsche Cayenne has been officially revealed ahead of its world debut next week at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. (Below Pictures Spotted of the Test Mule at the Nordschleife)
The second-generation Porsche 4×4 will come onto the market with more room, improved technology, and performance but is also trying to rebadge as a green car!.

In line with Porsche’s new “Intelligent Performance” mantra, every model in the Cayenne lineup–from the entry-level V-6 to the range-topping Turbo boasts improved performance while using less fuel and producing fewer CO2’s than the previous generation.

The highlight of the new lineup is undoubtedly the Cayenne S Hybrid, which we can confirm will be offered to the market this winter. It features a sophisticated parallel hybrid drive system that combines a supercharged 333 horsepower 3.0-liter gasoline V-6 with a 47 horsepower electric motor running on lithium batteries. The end result is a V-8 like 380 horsepower and 427 pound-feet of torque, the latter of which is available from a low 1,000 rpm.

Shelby GT500 Unvailed

The 2011 Mustang features all-new V6 and V8 engines for the mass production model, and the GT500 Ford is going to an all-aluminum version of the 5.4-liter supercharged V8 that was in the 2010 GT500. This new engine is good for a 102 pound weight decrease, as well as 10 horsepower surge over the previous model – putting total output at 550 horsepower and 510 lb-ft. of torque.

“Cutting weight to improve performance is a tradition among hot rodders,” said Carroll Shelby in a statement released to the media. “It might not be as sexy as adding more horsepower or bigger brakes, but shaving pounds off of a car is the single smartest move you can make.”

Ford also points out that this new Shelby Mustang is uses an engine with roots in the now discontinued Ford GT supercar – but with improved block structure through the use of a unique bulkhead chilled process and six-bolt billet main bearing caps. Ford says that the 2011 Shelby GT500 engine will exceed Ford GT performance due to its superior supercharger technology.

With increased power comes…increased fuel efficiency?
Bucking the trend of range-topping muscle cars receiving a gas guzzler’s tax, Ford says the 2011 Shelby GT500 will be the first modern Shelby without a gas guzzler tax, thanks to the EPA-projected 15 mpg city, and 23 mpg highway ratings. Ford’s engine changes also result in 80 percent torque being available between 1,750 and 6,250 rpm, along with a larger two-row intercooler that delivers 40 percent more cooling capacity.

Ford achieved the increase in fuel economy through a combination of weight savings from the use of an all-aluminum engine block, improved body and undercarriage aerodynamics and the addition of Electric Power Assisted Steering.

New performance features for 2011
Likely the most significant option change for the GT500 is the SVT Performance Package – giving the GT500 a track-ready performance pack from the factory. This package includes specially developed Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar G: 2 tires, a higher rear axle ratio, stiffer springs, lighter wheels and cosmetic changes for both the coupe and convertible. Ford attributes a 3.0-second lap time savings over the 2010 coupe on the 2.3-mile test track.

2011 Mini Countryman

MINI is adding a new model to the family, opening up a new look of that unmistakable MINI heritage.

The MINI Countryman bridges the gap between the classic concept of the MINI and a modern Sports Activity Vehicle.

Boasting enhanced opportunities in urban mobility and beyond, the MINI Countryman offers that unique driving pleasure so typical of MINI to new target groups requiring extra versatility.

As the only model in the MINI range with four doors and a wide-opening rear lid, the MINI Countryman provides even greater feeling of space for truly flexible use, a slightly elevated seating position, and optimised driving comfort.

And at the same time the MINI Countryman maintains that go-kart feeling likewise so characteristic of MINI, optional MINI ALL wheel drive offering an additional highlight for the genuine urbann offroader.

Nissan GTR M-Spec 2011 In test on the Nurburgring

Today at the Nurburgring, this GT-R Spec-M with lightly camouflaged front and rear bumpers showing the higher vent detailing under the camouflage and seems not to have the headlight washing sprays.

Where the limited-edition SpecV focuses on reducing the weight and Sharpening up of the handling, the SpecM is expected to offer a more refined interior with higher quality leather seats and other premium options unavailable on other models, and the bass speakers wont be as obvious.

Power is probably unaltered, staying with the regular GT-R’s 360kW and 590Nm of torque. It’s very likely, that the suspension will be adjusted to provide a softer comfortable ride

If the V-SpecM is on the way, expect Nissan To unvail the model at next months Tokyo Motor show
