Here are the latest spyshots of the Mercedes CLA 45 AMG prowling around the streets of the Eifel in Germany, after it left AMG test center close to the Nurburgring.
The CLA 45 AMG will be powered by the same 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine as the A45 AMG which has an impressive 175hp per liter giving the car a jawdropping 350hp.
And just like in the A45 AMG, the CLA 45 AMG will also get four-wheel-drive mated to the usual seven-speed twin-clutch transmission.
On the photos we can see that the prototype has a deep front spoiler to feed the induction system along with a wider track, the massive brakes, chunky side sills and a spoiler on the trunk which is hidden under the camouflage.
The car is aimed at the younger market and expected to retail aggressively against the RS3 and the TTRS possibly undercutting them by an impressive £10,000 pounds with minimal difference in power, we also expect CO2 figures to be more impressive than the thirsty 5 cylinder audi.
We expect the car to be revealed in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show with a price of around £32,000 (40k Euro)
