Nascar Betting

Motor sports have increased in popularity around the world while the Indy racing circuit has long has more of an international following; American stock car racing is also gaining an international foothold as well. Officially known as NASCAR, the sport offers three levels of competition: the Truck Series, the Nationwide Series and of course the highest level, Sprint Cup Racing. All provide opportunities for placing bets on them. However, the Sprint Cup is the series that hands down has the most wagers placed on it.
One benefit to placing wagers on NASCAR is that there are many ways in which to bet on a particular race. Betting on the race winner is a fairly simple kind of bet to understand. However, this type of bet is rather difficult due to the fact that the race begins with over 40 drivers on the track. The odds of picking a winner are tricky. Top three bets make it a little easier and give one a better chance of winning. Rather than selecting just one driver, three are picked that are believed to finish in the top three. Speed rows are another way in which wagers can be placed on a NASCAR race. The highest placing driver from among two to five drivers is selected.

When watching a NASCAR race, the length of these can be rather long. Many viewers at home find playing online casino games while watching can be fun. Slot machine games, like Motorbike Monkey, continue the motor sports theme. Motorbike Monkey is a five reeled slot game that provides a total of 25 paylines for players to win big. The game also has a progressive level which has an added jackpot bonus. A free spin bonus can also be activated by obtaining four free spin symbols anywhere on reels one through four. You can play roulette at Gaming Club online casino together with a wide variety of other casino game and slots machines.

New Ford Focus ST details and prices

Today Ford announced that the Focus ST will go on sale on 1st June, priced (in the UK) at £21,995. Deliveries are expected to start in September.

The previous ST’s 5-pot engine was forced into retirement by the Euro-5 regulations. The new car is powered by an all-alloy 2 litre 4-pot turbo EcoBoost unit, the new Ford Focus ST develops 247bhp, and returns 39.2mpg and CO2 emissions of 169g/km – 20 per cent better than the predecessor.

Suspension will be unique to the ST model, whilst non-linear variable-ratio steering and performance brakes have all been specifically tuned, by the Ford RS team in Europe, and the Ford SVT team in America.

We can expect to see the central exhaust, and Aston Martin-esque front grille as seen on the recent Concept. In terms of colour, you’ll be able to tick an option box marked “Tangerine Scream”.

The standard kit will include Ford Power keyless start, fabric Recaro seats, a DAB radio, Bluetooth for your phone and 18″ alloy wheels. The top of the range ‘ST3’ version (£25,495) gets heated leather seats, Bi-Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights and keyless entry.

This new ST will go on sale in 40 countries, but Ford expect it to be especially popular in Britain. “Ever since the arrival of the legendary GT40, Britain has become the spiritual home for performance Fords – and demand from UK enthusiast customers has always been strong,” said Mark Ovenden, Ford Britain managing director. “This latest Focus ST is a global car that will excite customers around the world – but especially those in Britain.” Indeed, the previous 2 versions of Focus ST sold in large numbers, with 35,000 leaving dealer forecourts between 2002-2010.

The car will also be available in estate form, priced from £23,095.

The Budget Conscious Buyer and Global Automobile Scenario!

All over the world there is a growing market for cars in every segment; however, there is a huge demand for cars especially in the small car and sedan segment in the global automobile market. And automobile manufacturers are not lagging behind in making use of this opportunity.  When they eye for the middle class and upper middle class with classis posh outlook combined with good technology which can give them mileage and maintenance free cars; they win the race before launching the car itself– there is high demand for fuel efficiency car nowadays.  Every car manufacturer is trying to attract their customers by luring them by promising more mileage per liter petrol or diesel.

Low cost hatchbacks are already on the roads worldwide and they have become quite popular in the low budget car segment; whereas cars like the Honda City and the Ford Fiesta are doing exceptionally well in the sedan segment.  What the middle class looks for while purchasing a caris comfortable seating arrangement with good pull up, suitable rates, adequate mileage/liter fuel.  If they are satisfied with all these basic requirements then they pay their attention towards colors, make style, appearance, interior and exterior designing etc. — this is the picture with common people.

Cozy accommodation provided for the front and back passengers are neat and sleek in almost all cars which are considered good features in acar targeted towards the mid-level budget.  Many cars are produced in this segment and the prices are kept very much within a feasible range; with companies like Ford, Chevrolet and Honda being some of the major competitors in the hatchback and sedan segment. Not only do they introduce various technical improvements for the benefit of their customers; but the after sales service of these competitors is also up to the markto woo as many customers as they can in this global slowdown.

One can observe that the colors and combination of the cars is almost same and they have one or two colors in the offering which might be different and might not be available with another car manufacturer—they also often release premium colors for their consumers; however there is no resemblance in designing as almost all company cars are unique and have distinguishing features that separate them from each other.

All car manufacturers have taken enough pain to make drivers feel comfortable while driving these cars, and for this they have added a lot of features as far as the interiors and exteriors are concerned, including added features like GPS, Driver information systems, audio systems and safety and security measures etc.

Car manufacturers have woken up to the fact that in order to attract as many potential buyers as possible, it is required that they offer them some additional perks apart from the basics; the reason why a majority of the top players in the market are offering things like free insurance, exchange bonuses and a host of other goodies and freebies.

Porsche GT3 R Hybrid V2 for the 2011 #nurburgring #n24

After the impressive lead the GT3 R Hybrid gaine in the 2010 and the following dissapointment of retirement from transmission failure, Porsche lines up with an even more efficient 911 GT3 R Hybrid

Porsche returns to the Nürburgring 24 hour race on 25 June with a further developed version of the Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid. Priority of the development was given to the improvement of efficiency through the targeted optimisation of hybrid components, which also resulted in a 20 percent weight reduction. Version 2.0 of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid is intended to achieve the same lap times as its predecessor but with less fuel consumption.

The general layout of the hybrid was adopted from the 2010 model. A portal axle with two electric motors drives the front wheels and supplements the four-litre, depending on the balance of performance classification approximately 470 hp, six-cylinder boxer engine at the rear. The output of both electric motors has increased from 60 to 75 kilowatts each. For seconds at a time, pilots now have almost an additional 200 hp at their disposal with the 911 GT3 R Hybrid 2.0. Depending on the programming, this power is automatically activated through use of the throttle pedal. Moreover, pilots can manually call up this extra power, for instance when overtaking.

The electric flywheel accumulator, with its rotor spinning up to 40,000 rpm and retaining the energy mechanically as rotational energy, is now housed with the other hybrid components in a carbon fibre safety cell on the passenger’s side.

At first glance, the new GT3 R Hybrid is clearly distinguishable from the 2010 model. Thanks to the optimisation of the hybrid system’s high voltage components, the large louvres in front of the rear fenders were no longer necessary. This reduces drag and also lowers fuel consumption. All in all, the weight of the vehicle decreased from 1,350 to 1,300 kilograms.

“We’ve collected a great deal of information from our races on the Nürburgring, at the ALMS race at Road Atlanta in the USA, as well as from the ILMC race on China’s Zhuhai circuit, which was an invaluable help for the further development of our racing laboratory,” says Hartmut Kristen, head of Porsche motorsport. “The emphasis of our work was on improving efficiency. That means we want to keep the lap times consis-tent with 2010 but use less energy, hence less fuel. In this way, we support future developments of road-going, sporting hybrid vehicles.”

The cockpit of the 911 GT3 R Hybrid has also been completely revised. Most of the displays and controls have moved to the steering wheel. Drivers can operate the rest of the functions via backlit buttons now situated on the centre console. Priority was placed on the ergonomics and the clear layout for pilots – particularly in darkness.

The new 911 GT3 R Hybrid is a perfect example of the ‘Porsche Intelligent Perform-ance’ philosophy, a principle found in every Porsche: More power on less fuel, more efficiency and lower CO2 emissions – on the race track and on the road.

Nurburgring – Nordschleife Lap Times Analysis

Everytime there is a lap record beaten it is always argued by the manufacturers to the legality of the attempt and the actual class of the Vehicle.

So last night I spent some time just going through the Historic and other controversial lap records, I wasnt really interested in the class of car nor the actual legality of it on the road.

I want to do this on the Technological achievements of engine development through the Years.

In the past couple of years here are the top 5 lap times:-

Manufacturer ModelLaptime
Radical SR8 LM6.55
Ferrari 599XX6.58
Gumpert Apollo Speed7.11
Donkervoort D8 270 RS7.15
Dodge Viper7.22

All the above times has caused stirs in the industry to the legality of the record arguing that for Example:-

  1. “The Radical SR8 LM would not pass a German TUV test so is not really a Road Legal Car.”
  2. “The Gumpert is not really a mass production  sportscar so doesnt count.”
  3. “Ferrari have made there own class and the only one in it.”

All in all we could spend hours arguing over the legality and validity of the above times and also non of the above cars was scrutineered to prove it’s as per production.

So what is the conclusion of the above nothing really, but the Radical SR8 is the fastest trackday weapon for relatively little cash.

I wasnt happy with that conclusion, So I went back to the wiki to compare competition Classes, two stood out:-

Manufacturer Model Driver + LaptimeLaptime
Porsche 956  1983 – Stefan Bellof6.11
Ferrari 312T 1975 – Niki Lauda6.58

So my conclusion is that the Radical SR8 LM is better than the Ferrari 312T built in 1975, and still chasing the Porsche’s 956 6.11 made in 1983.

So after years of development and manufacturers insistance to add electronics and safety cells in turn increased weight hasnt really achieved the same lap times as competition class cars from nearly 30 years ago.

And heres a tribute for the best ever Nordschleife Recorded Lap Record Stefan Bellof 6:11

So the next topic of debate has the track changed from past-present but I will save that for somebody else to address…..
