These are the first officially sanctioned photographs of the AMG A45 Production Prototype.
As we previously reported on the CLA prototype spyshots the engineering team have managed to extor 350 hp (261 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) from the use of development parts from the use of Formula 1 technology developed in England. The power will be sent to all four wheels via an AMG servo actuated seven-speed dual clutch sports transmission.
The chassis has been obviously tweaked to handle the additional power and comes with new hydraulic steering rack mated to a revised version of the MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, along with AMG uprated brake calipers and larger rotors.
The A45 AMG will need 5.1 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) and reach a top speed of 155 mph (249 km/h) and 168 mph (279 km/h) when equipped with the optional performance package.
We are expecting the pricing to be around 36,000 UK Sterling with the addition of around 2800 for the optional performance pack which will include 19″ wheels along with suspension and other changes.
We expect the A45 AMG to be unveiled in March at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
