Audi R8 E-Tron laps The Nuburgring in a record-setting 8:09

Nearly two months ago we spied the Audi R8 E-Tron Lapping the Nürburgring, what we didnt realise is that they was not developing the handling on the track it was an attempt at the electric car record.

The result A world record for a production electric car with a 8:09 seconds lap no video has been released as of yet.

This is where it gets a bit silly and hence the press release delay you cannot buy an Audi R8 E-Tron yet but this is the final production model which will be in showrooms at the end of this year.

The only changes was the car’s 200kph limiter had been lifted to 250kph, and there is no mention of the charging time after the lap.

We hope to see the video footage of its timed run very soon.
