Well here is the SLS AMG Black Series has just been made official and sports the Black Series moniker, After the extremes of cold winter testing in Sweden to the depths of Germany’s Nurburgring where it was literally tested to destruction.
Mercedes-AMG presents the high-end super sports car version of the gull-wing model, the new SLS AMG Coupé Black Series. Inspired by the SLS AMG GT3 racing version, the fifth Black Series model from Mercedes-AMG boasts a fascinating mix of breath-taking design, outstanding driving dynamics and uncompromising lightweight construction in accordance with the “AMG Lightweight Performance” strategy. With a DIN kerb weight of 1550 kilograms, the SLS AMG Black Series achieves a power/weight ratio of 2.45 kg/hp. The AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine generates a power output of 464 kW (631 hp) at 7400 rpm and accelerates the most dynamic gull-wing model of all time to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The coil-over AMG RIDE CONTROL performance suspension, the AMG ceramic high-performance composite brake system and the weight-optimised forged AMG light-alloy wheels with newly developed sports tyres combine with the electronically controlled AMG rear-axle differential lock and the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission featuring uncompromisingly emotional shift and response times to raise the SLS AMG Black Series to a new level. The AMG Aerodynamics package is optionally available to further boost the vehicle’s driving dynamics.
The uprated AMG 6.3-litre V8 engine generating a power output of 464 kW (631 hp) and 635 Newton metres of torque is a byword for thrilling driving dynamics, making the SLS AMG Coupé Black Series the most powerful AMG high-performance automobile with a combustion engine at present. Only the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive with a maximum output of 552 kW comes with greater power reserves.
The SLS AMG Coupé Black Series accelerates to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The top speed stands at 315 km/h. The additional 44 kW (60 hp) of power in comparison to the420 kW (571 hp) offered by the SLS AMG has been achieved by the following measures:
Increase in maximum engine speed from 7200 to 8000 rpm
Fully revised high-speed valve train with modified camshafts, adapted cam geometry and optimised bucket tappets featuring a special coating which is otherwise exclusive to racing vehicles
Modification of the intake air ducting: derestriction and adaptation to the new maximum engine speed
Adaptation of the engine application and increase in peak pressure
Well after numerous spy shots of the 2014 and the sixth iteration of the Maserati Quattroporte has gone official and will make its worldwide unvail in January at the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
The new model will have a longer wheelbase and lighter due to the use of lightweight composites and aluminium with a kerb weight of 1940kg 50kg shy of the outgoing model.
The launch version will be sold with a revised V8 engine made by Ferrari and also will be available for the first time is the all wheel drive system adopted from the Ferrari FF, there is no mention of the engine displacement but we expect to house a 4.7-liter 470 hp v8.
The new Maserati Quattroporte is a high-performance sports luxury sedan that reinterprets the design features of classic Maseratis in a contemporary design language. These are the first officially sanctioned photographs of the AMG A45 Production Prototype.
As we previously reported on the CLA prototype spyshots the engineering team have managed to extor 350 hp (261 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) from the use of development parts from the use of Formula 1 technology developed in England. The power will be sent to all four wheels via an AMG servo actuated seven-speed dual clutch sports transmission.
The chassis has been obviously tweaked to handle the additional power and comes with new hydraulic steering rack mated to a revised version of the MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension, along with AMG uprated brake calipers and larger rotors. At the front and rear, numerous aerodynamic measures that appeared on the Super Sport have been adapted for the Grand Sport Vitesse. The front end is therefore characterized by larger air intakes; the two central air intakes to the left and right of the radiator grille are horizontally divided by a bar. The bottom air vent stretches sideways into the wheel housing and lends this exceptional sports car an extremely high-performance appearance. The rear end, like on the Super Sport, is characterized by a double diffuser and a centrally positioned twin tailpipe. At the 2002 Paris Motor Show, the unveiling of the Continental GT concept took the world by storm and opened an exciting new chapter in Bentley’s history. Now, ten years on, Bentley is revealing the Continental-based GT3 race car currently being developed by a dedicated motorsport team at the company’s factory in Crewe.
Signalling Bentley’s return to the racetrack for the first time since its historic sixth Le Mans victory in 2003, Continental GT3 remains faithful to the company’s founding motorsport philosophy of developing racing cars from their road-going counterparts.
