On September 18th, The product engineering team from Porsche have been testing the upcoming 918 Spyder on the “Nürburgring-Nordschleife”, Even though the Porsche 918 Spyder prototype is far from final form it turned in a remarkable best time of just 07:14 minutes for the 20.6 km long circuit.

2013 Aston Martin DBS Spy Photos – Nurburgring

Here are the latest spy pics of the next-generation Aston Martin DBS hiding under camouflage, seen here undergoing handling testing at the Nordschleife in Germany.

The car is wearing detail camouflage around the rear to hide its one-77 inspired curves, but we can clearly see the new light clusters based on the Virage and Rapide.

Powering the next James Bond car will be a 6.0-liter V12 engine but will get one-77 tuning to deliver about 530 HP.

Also with the chassis weight reduction targeting around the 1350kg this will be some formidable super car.

Honda NSX Past to the Future

The Acura NSX, or Honda NSX, is one of my favorite sports car that was originally produced between 1990 and 2005 by Honda. It was a mid engined affair mated to a rear-wheel drive layout, powered by an all-aluminium V6  engine featuring Honda’s Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) system.

The video shows its prowess on the likes of the Nordschleife in Germany’s Eifle and also at Le-Mans.

Now after many years of rumour about a second generation NSX and the concept shown in Detroit, Honda are starting to tease us with the prospect of a new NSX reaching us in 2015.

Hopefully some prototypes will be showing up soon as there is usually a 3 year development cycle.

Fastest Subaru WRX STI Ever #nurburgring 7:55

After 2 months of intensive testing and track development Subaru have officially released the video of some of the Development carried out at the Nurburgring’s racetrack in Germany, the car was rumoured to be the Spec C version of the Sedan this turned out to be false, but it has obviously adopted some of the tooling used on the JDM Spec Cars.

Using a 2011MY Subaru WRX STI 4-door (sedan) test prototype. Subaru has been using the famous Nordschleife course since 1992 for advanced Research & Development as well as tests of the WRX and WRX STI models.

The concept of the 2011MY WRX STI is “The Fastest WRX STI Ever.” At Subaru, the phrase “Fastest” refers to more than just top speed or maximum engine output. It implies driving with confidence. The WRX STI can be taken to its “fastest ever” performance by providing the driver with total driving control with confidence. Major upgrades to the 2011MY WRX STI focused on the chassis and suspension set-up, and tests at the Nurburgring demonstrated the supreme overall dynamics and linear behavior of the new STI. Tommi Makinen, the legendary four-time World Rally Champion, piloted the test vehicle for the development. He commented, “The car was controllable with precise and faithful handling even on tricky corners. I could easily predict the car’s behavior. That is exactly what Subaru is offering, confidence. As a result, the 2011MY WRX STI test vehicle recorded 7’55”00, Subaru’s fastest lap time ever, which is 4 seconds faster than the previous fastest time recorded in 2004.”

The 2011MY WRX STI 4-door will go on sale world-wide this summer. Upgrades to the 4-door version will be carried over to the 5-door model and expect the usual JDM and Spec models towards the 4th quarter 2010.

Also see attached pictures taken by our photographers who caught Tommi Makinen at the Nordschleife.

Ring-Racer at the Nurburgring will it ever open??

After a delay of nearly 12 months and no activity on the progress of RingRacer at the Nurburgring, and the Accident back in September of 2009 what is the progress of the opening of the “Worlds Fastest Rollercoaster”.

Apparently the roller coaster manufacturer “S & S Power” had to give money back to Nurburgring GMBH for not forfilling their contractural obligations reported to be around the 600,000 euros mark.

There are also rumours that TUV wont give approval because of the speed the Carriages go through the public walk area’s where the Carriages go directly overhead, and the possibility of injury from dropped items.

It is quite embarassing as well because one of the attractions within the complex “Eifel Tour” the motionless driver refers to the ring racer 3 times on his virtual tour of the beautifull Eifel Valley.

This was meant to be reopened in Spring 2010 there still is no official word nor any activity on the Rollercoaster and Prominately reminds you off the failure everytime you see it.

It looks like the controversy of the many lap records claimed at the nordschleife; has also been emulated with the claim of the “Worlds Fastest Rollercoaster”.

This crown is aptly going to Abu Dhabi’s ‘Ferrari World’ and this will likely be up and running before the RingRacer, and that is reported to be 125-150mph due to open in August 2010.

If anybody has got any alternative use suggestions for the Ring-Racer please comment:

2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class #Spyshots #Nurburgring

The Piston Spy spotted the 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class during industry test days at the Nurburgring. The second generation MPV will replace the facelifted first model, which hit the dealerships in 2008.

Not a lot of change to the mule outfit from the earlier winter testing spyshots.

According to reports, the new model will use a front wheel-drive platform different from the one utilized for the A-Class. Aside from the hatchback, Mercedes may bring the car out as a five-door coupe and coupe cabriolet.

There is also reports that the Mercedes Motorsport will make an AMG varient of this Chassis to compete with the Audi S3 and the Ford Focus RS but im afraid this wasnt the AMG varient.
