BMW I8 – Zaps the Nordschleife (Spyshots)

BMW I8 - VLN 2013 Season BMW Motorsport

Sometimes it’s time to leave the city. Escape the restrictions of everyday life. Yes you guessed it the flagship I8 is lapping the Nordschleife.

After successful initial testing of the vehicle concept, the decision for a series production vehicle was quickly made. The BMW i8 Concept is the next step in the evolution of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept.

And now it looks like BMW I8 is looking close to completion, the I8’s plug-in hybrid concept combines the modified electric propulsion system from the BMW i3 Concept – fitted over its front axle – with a high-performance three cylinder combustion engine producing 164 kW/220 hp and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) at the rear.

BMW I3 – Spied In Light Cammo

BMW I3 Light Cammo
Here are our latest and most revealing photos showing the new BMW i3 out on test.

BMW continiues the strip tease on the i3 and now we can clearly see the roofline and lower parts of the front bumper without cammo.

We can also see the lines of those classical BMW kidneys and the window line in the rear doors.

And when we look at the side photos we are slighly chocked, will this be one of the first BMW i modern time that is missing the Hofmeister kink?

The new BMW 2-Series will deliver dynamic handling, but will share its engine power units with the 1-Series.

BMW 3 Series GT – Spied in Light Camo

BMW 3 Series GT
Here are the latest spyshots of the upcoming 3 series GT which is sporting less camouflage than previous spied prototypes.

BMW hasn’t announced whether the 3-Series GT will be sold in the U.S., and given the poor sales performance of the 5-Series GT its chances are slim.

The vehicle itself rides on the same platform underpinning the 3-Series sedan and is powered by the same series of engines.

The prototype seen here is showing its slimmer curves than the ridiculed 5-Series GT.

We are expecting the car to be revealed at the 2012 Paris Autoshow in France, As a Production Concept and likely to be unveiled later on in 2013.

Mini Countryman Coupe – Spyshots

It looks like the Countryman coupé concept is off the drawing board at Mini’s design studio in Munich.

Here are the latest spyshots of what looks like a production prototype of the Mini’s answer to Range Rovers Evoque.

Strangely looking at the prototype pictured here it looks like the hint of suicide doors have been canned and they have gone for a 3 door variant unless Mini are hiding a further prototype in the Mini Research and Development center in Munich.

This will probably be the last revision of the current mini range on the old platform with the all new Mini allready appearing in prototype form.

BMW 4 Series Cabriolet Roof Down – First Pictures. (F33)

Here are the first pictures of BMW 4 Series enjoying a much needed sunny day on the streets of Munich.

The car is still as camouflaged so it’s still difficult to make out the final design, but the fact that this has been snapped with the roof down gives us a hint of the final form.

Powering the F33 cabriolet will be the 2.0-liter turbo and the 3.0-liter turbo inline six currently used for the F30 3-series.

Both engines are rumoured to get a boost from the additional weight of the cabriolet to keep performance in-line with the non cabriolet model.

We are expecting the car to be available first quarter 2014.

BMW I3 Spied – Out in the Cold

Here are the latest spyshots of the BMW I3 testing in northern Sweden.

The eDrive technology consisting of an extremely agile electric motor developed and built by BMW, innovative battery technology and an intelligent engine management system. Makes the BMW i3 extremely agile and a joy to drive. The electric motor over the rear axle – which generates output of 125 kW/170 hp and impressive torque of 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) from a standstill – and a small turning circle combine to deliver pleasingly dynamic driving characteristics.

The BMW i3 accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h (37 mph) in under four seconds and from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than eight seconds.

Innovative connectivity functions create a seamless connection between the BMW i3 and its customers’ lives outside the car. Remote functions accessible via a smartphone enable owners to find their vehicles, flag up nearby charging stations, allow battery charging and preconditioning at the touch of a button, and supply information on the current status of the vehicle. Meanwhile, intelligent BMW ConnectedDrive assistance systems ease the stress on drivers in city driving situations and allow a safer arrival at their destination, with a more relaxed state of mind.
