This week Pagani have released a documentory interview with Horacio Pagani along with the cockpit video following the record breaking lap of the Pagani Zonda R at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the most advanced track for testing mechanical stress.
The final laptime was 6:47,5 min for the 20,832 km race track in Germany.
Driven by Marc Basseng, the Zonda R beat the previous lap record of 6 minutes 48 seconds set by Michael Vergers in the Radical SR8LM.
The 1,070 kilogram Zonda R features a Mercedes-sourced 6.0-liter V12 engine which has been tuned to produce 740 hp and 710 Nm (524 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the car to thrust from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.7 seconds, before reaching a Vmax at 351 km/h (218 mph) with its current gearing setup.
Priced from €1.5 million, only 15 Zonda Rs were produced.
