Bentley Continental GT Speed
As California’s Monterey Peninsula is primed for a week of displays and events involving some of the world’s most coveted, historic automobiles, Bentley Motors prepares to share a glimpse into the future with the North American debut of two new models – the Continental GT Speed and the EXP 9 F luxury SUV concept.

“Pebble Beach and the spectacular scenery of the Monterey Peninsula provide the perfect venue for automotive connoisseurs and enthusiasts from around the world to display and celebrate the very best of motoring,”

said Christophe Georges, president & COO of Bentley Motors, Inc.

“It also serves as an ideal backdrop for Bentley to showcase not only its latest production model, the Continental GT Speed, but also, with the EXP 9 F SUV concept, to provide a glimpse into Bentley’s future.”

Bentley’s fastest ever production model, the 616hp Continental GT Speed, will make its North American debut on the Pebble Beach concept lawn. The Continental GT Speed, Bentley’s performance flagship, is set to enter the market in October, and until then, Pebble Beach spectators will have to imagine its 4.0-second 0-60mph sprint and its 205-mph top speed during the static display.

FAMOUS BENTLEY 4¼-LITRE ‘EMBIRICOS’ SPECIAL MAKES STAR APPEARANCE AT CREWE FACTORY

Bentley Embiricos

One of the rarest and most valuable Bentleys in the world, the 4¼-Litre ‘Embiricos’ special, is making an historic appearance at the marque’s home in Crewe. Fresh from taking part in the Louis Vuitton ‘Serenissima Run’ in Venice and featuring at the Le Mans Classic as part of the Bentley lineup, this magnificent car takes pride of place in the Lineage Showroom at the firm’s Pyms Lane factory until September.

Richard Charlesworth, Director of Royal and VIP Relations and Head of the Bentley Heritage Collection, commented:

“It is an honour for Bentley to exhibit this unique Bentley for the first time, thanks to the generosity of its esteemed owner. Its sleek form was extremely advanced for the time, and its DNA can still be seen in modern Bentley coupes today. We are looking forward to showing the Embiricos to our factory visitors, and to the public at the upcoming Windsor Castle Concours of Elegance.”

World Premiere of Continental V8 Range at NAIAS 2012 in Detroit

Two new Bentley Continental V8 models have been unveiled at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on 9th January 2012.

The V8 range of Bentleys have been unveiled at the 2012 NAIAS in Detroit.

The new 4.0 litre, twin turbocharged V8 Continental GT coupé and GTC convertible achieve exceptional standards for power-to-emissions in the high luxury sports car sector.

This remarkable, new Bentley V8 engine delivers maximum power of 500 bhp (507 PS / 373 Kw) at 6000 rev/min and an extraordinary peak torque of 660 Nm (487 lb ft) which is available across virtually the entire rev range from 1700 to 5000 rev/min, providing exhilarating performance and effortless power delivery in the Bentley tradition. Combined with a new close-ratio 8-speed automatic transmission, this translates into a 0-60 mph sprint time of 4.6 seconds for the GT coupe (0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds) and a top speed of 188 mph (303 km/h).

At the same time, the new V8 Continental models achieve outstanding levels of fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions for the luxury performance sector and are capable of travelling over 500 miles (800 km) on a single tank of fuel.

Which isn’t surprising considering the 90 litre fuel tank.

Audi TT Spotted Sporting Bentley Alloys

Here is a Audi TT coupe sporting some extreme alloys from the Bentley Continental, This 2.0l TFSI powered TT was also sat only 40mm from the floor.

Due to the lack of damage from its dropped height we suspect that an HLS System is installed, where hydraulics lift and lower the car.

I think personally the extra money to fit this kit would have been spent by buying the TTS but who am I????

The 2010 Bentley Mulsanne

We first saw the 2010 Bentley Mulsanne at the 2009 Frankfurt Motorshow where it was unvailed for the first time, After the show we was expecting to see it undergoing test at the Nurburgring in Germany.

But this week the luxury flagship of the Bentley range was spotted for the first time, I wouldnt say it was going fast but I imagine the passenger didn’t drop a drip of his vintage Claret.

I was expecting some news to follow that week and like clockwork the official Press release was held in Scotland where some lucky individuals first drove the car.

Bentley’s founder, W.O. Bentley, wanted to create a car at the pinnacle of motoring. Something large, fast, refined and comfortable. This philosophy resonates deeply at Bentley and has, over time, created a legacy that embodies all of these characteristics: record-breaking feats, daring exploits and a host of exquisitely handcrafted and beautifully engineered cars. Now, more than 90 years later, the all-new flagship Bentley Mulsanne embodies W.O Bentley’s passion. It is a powerful and elegant driver’s car like nothing else on the road.

The new Bentley Mulsanne is a brilliant celebration of this ongoing quest for quality and craftsmanship, with Crewe representing the centre of excellence. Here, some local families are now on to their third generation of service, with one in four people having been at Bentley for more than 20 years. Each of these individuals is not just passing down their knowledge of timeless skills, but a fierce sense of pride in their work. As a result, Bentley people are able to stay true to the soul of the brand, despite the complexity – from idea to final car. That is why “Made in Crewe” truly does stand for unparalleled quality and attention to detail – all in the quest to build the world’s most prestigious driver’s car.

2010 Bentley Mulsanne specifications:
Price: £220,000 starting price.
0-62mph: 5.3 seconds
Top speed: 184mph
Combined economy: 16.7mpg
